SHS Alumni Publishes Book

January 25, 2015 by Jane Fairchild (Register to contact)

Jane Fairchild, formerly Jane Elizabeth Driskell, Class of 1962, has written a fascinating memoir which begins when she was a junior at SHS. You will recall many scenes of high school life in the early 1960s in the book. After a teen pregnancy forced her to leave school, Jane navigates through her life as an abused wife, a singe mom, a hippie living on a commune, building a career as an RN, and finally becoming a healthcare attorney. The book is entitled: The Last Laugh, the theme of the 50th year reunion in 2012. A book signing will be held at SHS or other venue in Springfield next summer.
